The Holy Ka'ba washed on thursday

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Amir of Holy Mecca region HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz has washed the Holy Ka'ba.

Upon his arrival, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz and his companions washed the inside of the Holy Ka'ba using Zamzam water intermingled with rosewater, and brushed its walls using water-wetted cloth, then solemnly toured around the Holy House and performed two prostrations of the round-touring.

The Amir of Holy Mecca, as he washed the Holy Ka'ba, he was joined hands by HRH Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Islamic Cooperation Organization (ICO) general secretary Akmal-ul-Din Ehasan Oglu, the general president of the Holy Masjid and the Apostle's Masjid Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, the Holy Masjids’ Deputy President Dr. Mohammed Al-Khozzayim as well as a number of government ministers, and members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the key-holders of the Ancient Holy House.

Upon having finished the washing of the Holy Ka'ba, the Amir of Mecca region HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz received a commemorative gift from the general president of the Holy Mosque and the Apostle's Masjid on this occasion.

The Holy Ka'ba is normally washed twice every year: once at the beginning of the month of Muharram and the second instance in the start of the month of Sha'ban.
